Hey Menno, what great timing. I'm a fan of your posts since you usually seem to know what you're talking about.
I actually rooted for the very first time today. It was a bit tricky since I had the FRG22D build (stock 2.2) and had never rooted before. But after some frustration and near-brickings, I got it to work.
I installed ROM Manager based on some other things I read, and WOW. What a great program. I'm currently running Liquid Frozen Yogurt v1.6 and I LOVE it. I actually tried install CyanogenMod 6 based on many great reviews I read, but I ran into some issues. It seemed to install correctly, it booted, but it didn't ask me to log into my Google account or restore my apps as had been my experience with other ROMS. Do you know why that might be? Do you know if there is anyway around having to reconfigure each ROM to your preferences? My main complaint about LFY is that it sports the bland stock theme. The CM6 theme you described sounds great and I'd love to try it.
