Android 2.2

Okay, First ima say that im an avid android user and liked 2.1 very much. i work for verizon and my favorite cusomers were iphoners.

Now that 2.2 has come out I must say i am not impressed. It seems to have slowed down my phone considerably. The icons take forever to show up and the touch screen is not as responsive as it used to be. Also the gallery takes FOREVER to load.

Some websites that i used to use (Mafia Wars, Wachovia) Are not as functional or not functional at all. Also a lot of apps that i dont use are opening themselves, where they did not (as often i should say) before.

there were a few more small glitches, but i can not remember them now.

Now I do like the power control Widget, five home screens and bluetooth diali...

It is a bit hard to quantify, since I have had mine rooted since 2.1 first came out. 😎

2.2 is much smarter about a lot of things, but it does have to learn, and perhaps more importantly, learn again, your usage. My experience with 2.2, even rooted, has been that some things are slowed down initially, but are sped up as the JIT works. The more apps you routinely run, the longer it will take for the advantages of JIT to really kick in, and for you to really notice the speed improvements inherent in the technology.

Also, I think that just as they shifted some of the background processing around from 2.01 to 2.1, which made the launcher slightly slower to load, there are even bigger changes going into 2.2, so there will be some learnin...
