Music Tao was an app that allowed users to pirate music. It's by the same guy who made at least 3 other music apps that did the same thing. His MO is to make an app and sell it until he gets a C&D letter from a record company so he changes the app slightly, renames it, and relaunches it. You didn't notice it because he made it so all the apps connected to the same file browser, but once you get a replacement phone, or do a factory reset, you're F***ed.

your best bet is to contact the app developer and see if he'll give you a refund (or send you the .apk to reinstall on your phone)

Whenever you get an app like this, you're playing with borrowed time. Considering you most likely downloaded more than $7 worth of content, I would consi...

hmmm... apps for pirated music. And he wonders that he'd get FC's all the time.

File sharing app, that probably runs continuously in the background, and he wonders why he can't stream stuff (news flash, if your running flie sharing, and someone is getting files from you, that's eating into your bandwidth. And I bet this app doesn't have bandwidth limit controls, either, to prevent it from taking over your entire available stream. Makes the radio run constantly, too, which will suck battery like nobodies business, not to mention keeping it hot. Which in turn will kill your battery way ahead of it's time.

OH, and if he's changing it "just a little bit" and then rereleasing it, how much quality testing is it getting? A memory leak th...

Oh, you decide to go to 2.2 yet? If so, what rom you using/what do you think?

I'm just using the (old) leaked 2.2 FRF53?? I love it. More battery, more speed...awesome!

Just saw that there's a new leak FRF84B (which sounds a lot like the FRF85B/final on the N1...) but haven't snagged it yet. Also saw that Pete has a BB with FRF83 (Presumably that's from N1 again), so been a bit torn. Before I moved to 2.2, I was using BB1.1, the one that had some Froyo bits without being a full froyo.

From what I'm reading FRF84 blocks tethering (still trying to figure out how they know; but apparently the kernel hacks aren't doing what I think they are), which means I'm inclined to go with Pete's, but I've been VERY VERY happy with my current one. The ONLY issue is that after updating apps, they run slow the first couple o...

I'm using pete's new BB build. (ver .3, though .4 was just released)

the built in tethering most likely has itself marked as tethering instead of of the hacked versions which look like browser data.

When I checked, V.4 wasn't there. Just checked, and it is, looks like it it's based on the FRF84B, so I think that clinches it for me... here we go...
