Ok I finally bit the bullet and made a decision and ended up with the moto droid today!! I LOVE this device!

However, as I'm getting used to it I have found my first problem and thus question...

To those who have perhaps answered this a thousand times I apologize but maybe once more won't hurt?

I downloaded the widget for yahoo/yahoo IM and they both work fine. However, the preinstalled "email" widget theoretically should allow my yahoo e-mail account to be sync'd to the device without having to go through and sign in etc like I would on the android widget I downloaded. I keep getting either an error that says "cannot connect to email server" or "incorrect username/password" which I'm quite sure it's not.

First, make sure you are using the email app, not the gmail app.

Second, yahoo sometimes makes it difficult if not downright impossible to check their email via POP.
Make sure your yahoo is configured to allow POP access (you can check this by trying in a program on your PC, such as Outlook express, etc. If you can't get it there, the email app is not to blame)

Finally, even with everything working, I have seen reports of a problem with yahoo and the email program not liking each other, but nothing recent, so it's pretty hard to say.

Thanks!

Actually, I got it to work but very strangely.

Through reading more droid forums, etc...found out it has to be set up in manual mode using imap format and will not work at all, even after setting it up if you're connected to a wireless network. strange 🙄 The yahoo mail and yahoo IM widget will work regardless but not the email function/sync. Gmail works fine...no issues with it at all...

So far I'm absolutely thrilled with this phone, there's only one thing I've found so far that I would change...and please, anyone, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong: You can't manage your pictures/albums from the phone itself...gotta have it hooked up to the pc! That's kinda a pain in the butt lol

Depends what you mean by "manage" 🙂 The "gallery" program allows you to delete pictures.

For creating albums and moving pictures around, there's not an easy way using the stock program, but there are alternative cameras that have additional capabilities (I haven't really looked into all of them, but as an example, there's a program called "camera magic", which stores pictures in a different folder.

You can also get one of several different file manager programs that will allow you to manipulate the contents of the sd card, including deleting files, or creating folders, moving files, etc. In my opinion, it's still easier to do it on a PC, since you have a full sized keyboard, and you can have access to full editing (photoshop/GIMP) i...
