Does BestBuy offer a 1 year contract option, or is it only only handle two year contracts on new phone and/or upgrades through their channel?

Best Buy stopped doing 1 yr contracts when all stores transitioned to Best Buy Mobile. Everything is 2 yr now

That is not correct. I work for Best Buy Mobile. Best Buy Mobile only mentions, pushes and advertises 2yr plans, but they are still able to sell phones on 1yr plans. It even shows up in the registers when you cash out. Only thing is the phone will be more expensive of course and I don't know why you wouldn't wanna take the 2yr price. The 1yr price is normally hundreds more.

But YES you can purchase a phone from Best Buy with a 1yr plan regardless if they say they can't because I've sold 1yrs in the past year or so. Haven't done one in a while though cause nobody ever wants to pay more

Blackberry Storm 2:
2yr price $279.99
1yr price $349.99
No contract $539.99
1 and 2 year contracts qualify for $100 rebate.

It is not 'hundreds more'. it is $70 more with one year versus two year. And frankly one year pricing makes more sense. If one signs a one year contract one can upgrade REGARDLESS of price plan after 10 months. If one signs a two year contract one can only upgrade after 22 months unless one is on a qualifying rate plan for an annual upgrade ($49.99 or higher). What this means is secondary lines should NEVER sign up for two year contracts. Those are usually the kids and they are the ones who clamor for a new phone every year. Meanwhile you have signed a two year contract and unless you chose the Total Eq...

Where are you getting your pricing from. I just looked in our system and its Free for 2yr and $300 for 1yr when it comes to the original Storm.

I don't know what the carrier stores charge for 1yr plans, but Best Buy is atleast $100-200 more for 1yr plans on most of the phones.

All these prices are with instant rebates not mail in rebates. Of course we price match though

Those are your prices... Verizon pricing is: One year pricing $70 more than Two year. I would not buy from you guys OR corporate, personally. I'd buy it online. Anyone who buys online can look at the price of the phone if they choose 2 year, 1 year or month-to-month option.

The whole topic is asking if BEST BUY offers 1 year contracts. Someone said no and I corrected them and then you tried to say I was wrong about them being 100's more which they are for Best Buy. Like I said though, Best Buy mobile will match any companies prices. BBYM may not price match every promotion though, like bogo's, but individual phone prices will always be price matched

In closing, yes Best Buy offers 1yrs, but are not advertised and will cost you a LOT more

I see. I stand corrected. To the original poster (since this IS the Droid page). If you are looking to buy a Droid you will get the instant rebate and best 1 year pricing (apparently) at www.verizonwireless.com Cheers!
