the apps are a joke on this thing like 90% of them dont even work and the other 10% are totally useless, this phone wont put its speaker on any of the navi sounds or media, the settings and icon arraingments are totally stupid. i was waiting for this phone for a while its a total dissappointment, it leaves out features i wouldnt even think to look at since they were options i had on phones like 7 yrs ago. horrible device!!

These phones are nothing like what you might be used to with a Voyager. Smartphones are far more advanced and allow for endless customization. If in your view, 90% of the apps don't work and the remaining 10% are "useless" then this is not the phone for you.

There are...

Visit the Android Market website thru your computer that way you can get a better look at the application that you might want. This device is alot better then the voyager ever would be. I had the Voyager.

You can view the apps on your pc? I tried that a couple times and got a message that they are limited on a computer and said to use the droid.

There are unofficial websites that try to keep up with every app. The android site does only have some of the apps. Try:

http://www.androlib.com »

They seem to have the majority of them.

every app I downloaded worked like a charm. my speaker is practically used as a default for everything.

And how is a grid of icons (like every other touchscreen/advanced phone out there) stupid?

and what features are you missing?

I can't say for the many apps that's out there, as I haven't tried em, but even tic-tac-toe that comes pre-installed on the phone doesn't work. The "O" and "X" don't land where you want to, and screen becomes unresponsive.

No Tic Tac Toe for me either. I've had a few issues, but most of the apps are free, and even if you paid for one that doesn't work, you can get a refund within 24 hours. No risk.

jag off? anyway the phone does lack simple things like camera zoom and im defintaly havin issues with the speaker i think its getting confused with all the bluetooth speakers stuff im doin with it. and there is no option for "audio to phone" option for bluetooth transferr another very annoying feature. and the apps alot do not work properly and are very buggy.

You can get a camera zoom, there's an app for that.

A lot of app developers did not upgrade their programs to be 2.0 compliant yet, but that being said, the ONLY problem app I downloaded was the Key Ring app, and that's been updated since and it works flawlessly.

I clicked on your user name and looked at your past phone models and your forum messages. Wow! Everything you post is slamming someone or some device or other. Do your friends call you, Sunshine? Do you have any friends? Seriously! The other question I have is: Why would someone who has had nothing but LG phones step down to a Motorola? I know LG has not made a PDA for Verizon yet, but you know it is coming. Just a matter of time. My advice: Go back to your Voyager and wait for the LG PDA. Oh and chill out.

isn't there an update coming in December to help with some of these bugs?

Yes. I was at Verizon the other day and they said something about an update in December. They also said any "bugs" with the apps is because the OS is 2.0 and the apps have yet to be upgraded to run better.

Anyone who slams the Moto Droid this soon is jumping to conclusions. Look at the iPhone for example, it started out with way too many flaws and it all got ironed out. Now look at the awesomeness of the Moto Droid, any kinks in the system will be ironed out as well and will succeed with even more awesomeness!

Don't mock the chef till you've had dessert. 😛
