BB Messenger Withdrawl and missing Droid tutorial
I am truly missing my Blackberry Messenger. Does Android carry anything like BB Messenger where you can chat with others without paying text messaging fees? I know other instant messengers like AIM, and Windows and Yahoo are all sent like text messages.
Also was there a manual that came with this phone because my phone didn't come with one. And the tutorial on the phone is one screen which shows you how to open and close the phone. Am I doing something wrong with the tutorial? Was it not loaded correctly on my phone? Do other Droid owners have a full tutorial on their phone?

To access a system tutorial..from the home screen...touch:
Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Tutorial
From there it will take you through a tutorial about the phone and you can choose to skip, or view whatever you like. 🙂

ALSO, if you go to the DroidMarket, you will find apps for messeging systems (AIM, yahoo, ect). There you will also find apps for free messaging services. Just search for it in the market. There are more and more apps being created everyday! 🙂

Must be nice, I am guessing I will get my training in 2-3 weeks. Afterall, why bother giving training to the customer service reps that have to take calls to answer questions about the damned thing?

I hear ya...when I worked in the call center we had limited to 0 device training..which SUCKED!! I love working in the store. Sometimes we get training OVERLOAD lol... I just had a special kick off meeting dedicated to this device and they brought in District Managers and our DSC to lead it and gave us hands on time with the phone and anwserd questions we had about it.

If you download the aim/yahoo apps, they will use Data, not text messaging. (just like if you use the official verizon app for aim for blackberries, it uses data)
As for free Sms, sign up to get a google voice number, then make it your primary number for your droid. The droid has native support for GV, and all sms with it is free.
