Use the Droid in Europe and Latin America?

Been waiting for a Smartphone on the VZ network like the Droid for quite some time. However, it's CDMA with no GSM.

Even though I've had the same cell number for sixteen years, my knowledge of using the CDMA phones throughout the international arena is limited.

Tell me, w/o the GSM mode... how can I use this phone internationally?

Or should I wait for a tri or quad-mode version of the Droid to be released on the VZ network?

Its not a world phone.

Just go get an unlocked phone and buy a prepaid sim when you enter the country. This is the most cost effective way to use a phone abroad.

The Droid WILL NOT work for you needs. you would be better off with a blackberry Storm 2 or Tour
