COMSEC Issue - VERY SERIOUS

by JasonBjorn    Aug 18, 2010, 12:22 AM

I like the ruggednes, clean design, the loudness and the water resistance BUT...

Issue Number 1- There is a SERIOUS COMMUNICATION SECURITY ISSUE with this phone. I am very fortunate to have figured it out shortly after getting it. Here's what happens:
1. I am writing a text message to person A.
2. Person B sends me a text message - I ignore it.
3. I send my message to person A.
4. The phone sends it to person B by mistake.

so, if you ever talk about anybody, its possible that they will get your message about them. BOOO!

Work around: use the UP button to go from the message you are writing to the To: field - it will populate with the correct person's name, then it will work fine.

It has happened to me several times - because it doesn't happen ALL the time I sometimes forget and it then DOES happen.

Issue Number 2 - The option menu items are inconsistently implemented. If I am at the top of a message thread then I get some options, and in the thread others, and if I open a message all the way I get yet others. Why would I not want to "forward with copy" when I am reading a thread, but I supposedly would when I open the message all the way?

Issue Number 3 - when I want to choose several people to add to a forwarded message I have to do the stupid ADD thing from the Options menu. and then go through the check-box thing. DUMB. Why can't I just add them like normal (when penning a message for the 1st time) why is there a different interface for Forwards? I want the normal To: interface. A lot of time was wasted designing the check-box interface, which requires me to choose ADD, From Contacts, check all the boxes and the weird thing is - when I start the whole procedure I see the normal looking To: field, but if I try to type in it I get an error. Hate it.
