I just received my new phone via PCS-AUTO, and have just activated it. I'll plan to post a user review once I've familiarized myself with it, but a few first observations:

PROS
--great compact size
--light weight
--reasonably loud ringers
--bluetooth

CONS
--dubious battery life (already showing diminished battery life and I've hardly used it)
--screen is hard to read in sunlight
--menus do seem slow to me

The phone seems reasonably well-constructed, and so far the menus seem intuitive and the sound quality a great improvement over my Sanyo 4900 (an otherwise unimpeachable device).

My intention is to use this phone to connect to the web w/ my G4 Powerbook, and any input from others is most welcome and appreciated.

Have you gotten the G4 Powerbook to use the T608 to access the web? I'd love help getting the kinks out...

Also have you used it as a Fax source for OS X printer menu link to fax... I get it to recognize the send ( ie. it sees a busy signal on the targeted fax machine, but it doesn't actually connect with a fax that isn't busy...mmm)

Let me know what you've learned... Dave

Yes, I actually read your response and am posting this by way of it! Very cool.

The main surprise was that the number to dial is not your regular dial-up number, but rather *777. My Sprint Vision username & password were auto-filled-in when I did this. I'm still not sure why this works or where this guy got the information, but it seems to work.

My information about how to use the T608 to connect to the internet w/ my G4 came from t608.com, from their forum section. There is a forum called something like "using your 608 as a modem" or some such, and he gave me the protocol which I'm now using.

I've not done anything fax-wise, but I wonder if there isn't something about it in these same forums.

I'm running OSX, version 10.3.2....
