Pantech Impact - Ending a Call and One Other Question

I have a Pantech Impact and I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with ending a call on the touch sensitive key pad when the phone is closed.

My other question is if anyone has had issues with, when flipping open the phone, there is a delay with the internal lights turning on. Mine has that and I don't know if that's normal.
