I ended up buying the SE T637 and am very glad I did. I love this phone! Reception is amazing, the features are unbeatable, the voice quality superb, the internet works well, and the menus are just fine to navigate for this long-time Nokia user.
Re: reception, my Nokia digital phone barely worked at my house but this one works great. Better still, I was the only guy who had cell service worth a darned while on a dirtbiking vacation last week (I'm on AT&T but as noted we can roam onto Cingular now and that's what I was on in Stillwater, OK). This also meant lots of other people got to borrow my phone to call home when night/weekend time kicked in. And I was even able to keep up with current events by surfing onto CNN and CBS Marketwatch! Everyone who tried it was going to go home and buy one when they returned!
I heard from a (woman) friend who tried it and returned it that the AT&T person told her 80% of the people buy the phone for its features and return it when they find it too difficult to use. I am a technical kind of guy but haven't used PDAs or anything and find it very intuitive -- in many ways superior to the Nokias.
