Any problems with screen going to landscape mode?

I am considering moving to the world of the iPhone this winter when my current contract with another provider expires, so I went to an apple store to try one out.

For the most part I really liked what I saw, but one thing that bothered me was the fact that the phones don't seem to like going into landscape mode. Wasn't that one of the big changes to the 3.0 OS?

The Apple store I went to had 3 3G S models and one 3G. None of them would consistantly going into landscape mode. 2 of the "S" models and the 3G running 3.0 would not change at all. The third "S" would do it after a 10~15 second delay. Two of the employees couldn't explain it, and seemed rather embarassed that their demo's weren't working properly.

I prefer the landscap...

I had the iPhone 3G before I got the 3GS and the 3GS definitely switches much faster and consistently.

Thanks for the feedback. I wonder what was wrong with the phones at my local Apple store? I thought it was odd for all the display models to have the same problem.

Is it a feature of the app your are running? Facebook doesn't seem to want to switch but texting and email work fine...

i have no problems when texting but if i am wanting to type on anything else it does not change!!!!!
