Problem with notifications?

On VZW's site, one person rated the phone and claimed that it had a problem with notifications.

"...have 3 problems/complaints with it. It continuously says I have unread messages. This notification will not go away unless I physically open the message. If I have more than one message from the sender, I have to open the message that amount of times for it to go away. Also, while the phone is in my pocket and I get a text or email, the screen unlocks causing me to pocket dial. And lastly, if I open the keyboard with a message open, it will send a blank message to the sender."

OK, the first two complaints actually make sense...the mail has not been read, so it shows it as unread. Duh!

Can anyone confirm that the phone does have a prob...

I have the same problem with threaded text messages. If I have multiple texts from the same person, for some reason I have to open the thread multiple times to clear the new text message indicator in Touch Flo.

I haven't had the problem with the phone unlocking when received email/text, however I did notice that if you slide open the keyboard while the phone is locked, it unlocks the phone. Possible while in your pocket it gets bumped or pushed just enough to unlock?

I don't get a notification message for every message - just the message count in Touch Flo.

A couple issues I am having:

1) Flash button (touch interface) while on a call doesn't do anything. I forgot to try hitting the send button to see if it flashes the phone -...

Wow, sliding it unlocks it? That kind of defeats the "lock your phone in case you lose it" scenario! Is there a way to make it NOT unlock with the slider?

I am holding out for 6.5 before buying anything.

Yes it sure does at least when I'm using the Touch Flo interface. Didn't test with standard WM6.1 screen.

OK, I'm beginning to think that this phone officially bites!

If 6.5 doesn't fix it, I'll hang on to my XV6800.

Thank you for the information!

or u could try saving or deleting the voicemails, if u just listen and hang up without saving or deleting, it might still show u have two unheard voicemails.

to clear text notifications, (without actually opening up the message X amount of times):

Keeping it simple, let's say you have 1 new text message,
Using Touch Flo3D, select the Text Message icon. Flick up or down to the new text message, after 2-3 seconds the orangish green notification will go away.

Let's say you have 3 new text messages, hence, the colored 3 notification.
Flick to select one of the new text messages, wait a few seconds, the count goes down to 2.
Flick to the next new text, it goes down to 1.
Then to the final new text.

This is the way to clear the count without having to open the message up say 3 or 4 times. This phone only has 500 something MHZ u just gotta be patient
