As I used to work for Motorola I've had their phones for the past 9 years...w/ Verizon and Sprint. I'm leaving Sprint and unfortunately my unlimited everything for free employee plan goes along w/ it.

So, I'm thinkin' of buying the N97. I told myself I'd never pay $700 for a phone, but I could see myself having the N97 for 2 or 3 years...easy.

Anyone else use the N96? I live in Chicago. Is there really any other option than AT&T for this phone? T-mobile?

Suggestions, comments?

don't forget you could always do pre-paid ATT also, could save you large bills but since you are used to unlimited that might not be enough. I'd say put a 100 prepaid in it and see if you can make a month. If you can then just do that every month. Otherwise att plan that you'll need are more than that. Unlimited txt on prepaid is 19.99 and 100MB is also 19.99.

Good luck that phone is a beast!

Also don't forget in 2-3 yrs LTE will be very alive and you could be tempted to buy another phone :-)

The pre-paid option is a good idea. Not sure if T-mobile has 3G in Chicago yet. But, ultimately it's going to come down to who has better data coverage at home and work.

I could try pre-paid on both carriers, one-at-a-time, until I decide which carrier works best for me.

Even if TMO has 3g in Chicago, it doesn't matterm, this phone doesn't cover the TMO AWS band.

I checked into this and you are correct. Thanks man. Looks like AT&T is my only viable option.
