Just wanted to see how many people actually have one of these now. I ordered mine from Amazon and they told me I have to wait until the first week of July. This phone has stirred up a lot of people. I can't wait to finally get to use it.

Its sad, got it on Thursday sent it back on Wednesday. too buggy too, much hold time on the phone with nokia. tried everything nokia wanted to do. codes to reboot, reinstall the firmware and few other things.... not good. during the time i had it the whole phone locked up 4 times (had to take the battery out) accuweather and facebook locked up 3-4 times a day and the phone was sluggish. as you can see by my earlier messages i was really looking forward to getting this phone. guess maybe its a first generation phone issues. not what i think you should get for the $$ 😢

That's not good. I've heard about this sort of thing happening to a few people. But as the RIM CEO once said "Nobody gets it perfect out the door." I hope mine turns out okay. If it doesn't, I guess I'll either return it or most likely wait for the initial firmware update which will solve most issues.

true. let the phone charge up. and don't rush commands. let the cpu process requests and burn in properly, (or whatever it does) when its brand new.

Is a phone, not a motorcycle.

Maybe so, but phones don't require break in periods like a car or motorcycle to keep under 50 mph for the first few thousand miles.

BTW, I happen to think this phone is great. Maybe some growing pains, new versions of the firmware etc... This is common with all smartphones.

I waited until the first update and am happy.....There will be more updates.LOL

SW is never finished until the masses get it and use it. THEN the warts will show up. Testers cant possibly test every incarnation of the phone....

I don't know if carrier plays a role in the phone locking up but I'm using the N97 with T-Mobile in Austin and it's been fantastic. It's already my second favorite S60 phone (behind the E71) and I can see it eventually moving into first place. For the record, I've had my phone for about three days now.

I just read your review Omagus. I have one question, and it pertains to your keyboard gripe about constantly having to use CTRL. You how in the E71, and N95, if you hold down the letter with the number you want to type on it, it types the number without having to hit CTRL?? Like if you want to write 2, you press and hold the Y key on the E71 and it types 2. The N97 doesn't do that all?

No, it sure doesn't. The "1" shares a button with the "Q" but if I hold down that button it just keep typing "Qqqqqqqqqqqqq."
