MP3's as ringtones

Jan 3, 2010, 6:37 PM
I used to have Alltel before Verizon bought them. With Alltel, you could not have mp3s from your SD card as ringtones because of some stupid anti-piracy crap.

With Verizon, if I put my SD card in a new phone (with mp3s from CDs I bought) will I be able to put a select mp3 from my card as a ringtone on the phone?

You need to text them to yourself (clips must be under 30 sec.) and then when you receive them, you can save as ringtone.

There is another way as well. Save your MP3s on your MicroSD card in the Sounds folder. Then, when you open your sounds on the phone, you can choose SET AS and VOILA! You have an MP3 ringtone!

I've been trying to mess with this for a long time now and I can't find a way to save them on the sounds folder. My music is saved onto the Micro SD card but it is under my music. I've been looking everywhere and can't find a way to save it in the sounds folder.

How are you trying to do this? Through the phone or on the computer? The only way I have been able to access this file is when I have my Micro SD card in the computer.

Oh, well I was trying to do it through the phone. There is also a website that I use to make songs out of the songs that I have on the computer already for my iPod. The website is, it is very useful and FREE! That's the best part. Very Happy
