You're kind of between a rock and a hard place with this one. Windows in general just sucks. Memory leaks cause the OS to slow and lag. The E71 runs Symbian60 which is supposed to be better, but I found it equally slow and laggy. Both have a lot of apps, but neither have many that are free. If a robust email program is important to you then go with the Jack. The E71 is slimmer, sexier and better built, but the email for business application is sorely lacking. Just my $.02. Good luck either way.

Trust me dude I HAVE the Nokia e71x right now and it reminds me of Al & Peggy Bundy (guess who's Pegg) I dont wanna have anything to do with this phone. Its Slow, THE KEYBOARD IS WAAY TOO SMALL even a Kindergartener would complain. I have not Tried out the Jack yet but I am DEFINETLY without a doubt Bringing back the E71x.. The Jack has a wider keyboard and atleast u can trust Windows Mobile. This Syban stuff is crud!! My e71x might look slim n sexy but its the inside that counts and its just lacking. I say if u have Small hands and like a complicated OS then go with it. If not DO NOT APPROACH!

Actually Windows Mobile doesn't suck. You just have to realize that just like regular Windows on your PC, you have to reformat and start fresh at regular intervals. I had an original Q9h, and even with being diligent and running SKtools everyday it still got slow. I updated with Win Mobile 6.1 and poof back up to speed. Now I reformat with Win Mobile 6.1 every 2 months. I've backed up everything and it takes me about 45 min and everything is back on and fresh.

You are making my point for me. I am definitely no Apple fanboy, but I haven't had to do a refresh of my OS in the almost year that I have had my phone. One of my biggest pet peeves about WinMo is that I have to wipe my phone and r...

I ordered the Nokia E71x and was impressed with the build and size. Unfortunately the Nokia PC Suite would not allow me to sync with my work computer. My Windows Mobile phones have never had a problem. I spent hours on this issue and even was sent directly to Nokia. They had no idea what to do either.I even sent back the Nokia and got a second E71x and had the same problem. I was very disappointed disappointed with the graphics, I found them to be poor at best even with a an excellent screen resolution. Call clarity on the Nokia was very good, the key board was suprisingly easy to use. I thought the unit was fast.

Now I have a Moto Q Global and find the OS much better for me. I have a Samsung Jack on order and I hope it will be as...

I have to agree with this. I had an E71x and syncing was one of the problems. I now have a Jack and like it a lot.

Your review was VERY helpful, and I agree with your evaluation. I am really liking mine. I did have a question, though: do you notice any sort of variation or fluctuation in volume while you're on a call?

When I'm talking to people, they are quite clear (more so than my old RAZR), but the volume of their voices fluctuates somewhat throughout the call; the volume seems lower as the person begins to speak, then ramps up as they are talking - the volume then drops back down after a pause in speech. I do note that background noise is practically non-existant, and the caller at the other end always says I sound great, like I'm on a land line. I have not seen anyone else make a comment about this, so I'm wondering if there's an issue with my p...

I dont know what the problem everyone is having with the E71x. I work for at&t and was using a Bold but now just use my E71x and wont go back to a RIM device since i just prefer the Symbian OS and while not as "pretty" as Windows and I know its outdated compared to Windows its still preety reliable. My device is connected to my company's Exchange server and I also have my personal email on the device and I have no issues. I also do use Nokia PC Suite and had no issue, I back up my device, swap applications and also contacts since I also have an N95. Again the main issue seems to be connections with your email, and while the setup for Exchange is a little cumbersome it can be done. The Jack is nice, but feels cheap (as does the Bold) when com...

I use a regular ole from Nokia e71 NAM, not the X, and I love it. Been using it since November, works great. OK mail app could be better. But the kb and qc is excellent. I do sim swap with a Bold, which is another excellent phone.

Windows Mobile, well its not as bad as the detractors say it is. I've found its far better then it was, for about the last 18 months. Haven't messed with the new Jack, but honestly it doesn't seem like a bad phone. Comes down to comfort and needs. If email is a priority and you don't use exchange, then get WM, it handles it well. If not using exchange and email is priority, BB handles mail better then anyone else.

Symbian if new to, is far different then other phones systsms. Its the most popular in...
