Actually I didn't think it was much of a pain at all - took a few minutes to enter the people I call frequently, and I add more as I go. I have an older LG VX7000 and the voice dialing, with speaker-dependent technology, is absolutely, totally, perfectly flawless, even with a fair amount of background noise while I'm speaking a name to be dialed.
I want to upgrade this phone and have tried many, many newer models. Unfortunately, they all have speaker-independent dialing, and I have yet to try a phone that gets it right even once. I have read many reviews by posters on various forums who agree. I have experienced mis-dials (wrong person called) and endless requests like "did you say____?" (No), or "please try again" over and over. It is frustrating beyond description.
Until Verizon overs a decent flip phone with speaker-dependent dialing, I'll stick with my old phone.
That said, has anybody out there had a successful experience with speaker-independent dialing? By successful I mean without fail. Would like to know of anybody's experiences.
