If you have the ability, I would go to your nearest Sprint store, they have connectors there that can move contacts from other phones. They did this with my Blackberry 8900, and they also were able to sync my GMail contacts.
As far as sync with Outlook, I downloaded the app Pocket Mirror from the Pre App store. It works with a Wi-Fi connection, which I have at home.
I was not able to sync with Outlook using the data cable or the Palm desktop program. If someone who visits here knows of a way, please share.
