I think that this might be the device that makes or breaks Palm. It has been a very long time with the same OS or Windows. Any thoughts?

I agree. The same may also be said of Sprint, albeit to a lesser extent.

I haven't used Sprint or a Palm device in years, and I have no plans to switch back to either. But I'm hoping that the Pre is successful for both parties because we need to maintain competition in the wireless field.

This will make or break them because they put their whole budget on this phone. now sprint is not under the pressure because dan knows what he is doing. thats why sprint is not jumping the gun using up all of their budget money to buy a whole lot of the palm pre's instead their going to buy just enough and let the people see how they react first before buying the second batch. thats why dan says their will be a shortage. u cant put all of your eggs in one basket. not smart.

i agree. the iPhone had the popularity of the tried and tested iPod behind it. i feel the Pre has the Palm followers and the underdog position which should help greatly. also the already head to head comparison with popular must have iPhone will catapult it in the light and awareness of the people who don't remember Palm's dominance as the "palm pilot" pda maker. just like Apple has people calling all mp3 players ipods. it's gonna happen. for Palm it has to happen.
