Compare LG Xenon with Samsung Impression, also considering Pantech Matrix

I am about to get a new phone and an AT&T wireless account. I notice that the LG Xenon and the Samsung Impression appear very similar, and in fact, on the AT&T site, compare as identical. The Impression is a little more expensive, but if it is a better phone it would be worth the difference. Does anyone have any feedback on comparing these two phones? I was also looking at the Pantech Matrix, which is not touch screen but has a double slide and is less expensive. Anyone have any info on comparing that to the to touchscreen phones?

Things to consider...
Impression is largest, but for that also has the biggest, clearest, and most functional screen.
Xenon has a decent screen, but will be the next smallest followed by the Matrix.

Impression has the largest, and in my opinion nicest keyboard of the 3. Xenon's keypad will work fine if you have smaller hands or are used to really cramped qwerty's. Matrix would be the in-between as it is decently spaced.

I work in a COR store and I can honestly say customer "impressions" (corny I know) have been overwhelmingly positive. If you're willing to shell out the little bit of extra cash it really is a better phone for the money.

I had the pantech Duo.. LOVED IT.. and the matrix is getting much better reviews then the duo so I'm sure it's a really good phone..

I was debating on the LG Xenon or Samsung Impression my self..

The LG was getting BAD reviews but the Samsung had just came out..

I got the Impression.. and I couldn't be more happier, I LOVE IT.. it is bigger and heavier and I'm still getting use to the weight of it (coming from a blackjack II) but I think I made the RIGHT choice. It was WELL WORTH the extra money..

And you can SYNC your contacts and Calender with it too by using the instinct PC Studio instead of the Impression one.. That was a BIG plus..

I had the LG Xenon; my wife got one as well. We bought them on a Saturday. My wife's keyboard stopped working 3 days later on Tuesday; mine quit working the next day. The phone stopping recognizing the keyboard. When you slide the keyboard out, the icons are supposed to switch to landscape mode and if the screen is locked it's supposed to unlock. When we slid the keyboard out, nothing happened. When you press the buttons, nothing happened.

I did a review on here that's pretty much my take on the phone. But I didn't have space to mention the weird quirk when messaging. When you press the "caps" or "fn" (for an apostrophe, semicolon, exclamation point, etc) it puts it on a caps or fn lock which means that, for example, when you wr...

I did buy the Impression as did my wife. We are both very pleased with the phone. The signal reception and call quality is good. I live in a poor reception area and I have no problems with calls or text messages. The screen looks amazing and the touch screen works great. The keyboard is really nice, a lot better than the Xenon.

The lock/unlock button is in an awkward place, but I've already gotten used to where it is and have little problem with it. I love the widget menu on the side of the screen. I use that thing constantly. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with this phone and I highly recommend it.

I considered the phones listed as well as the samsung jack, and nokia E71. I got the impression and have had it a week. You should try typing "the sly red fox jumped over the lazy dog" to try the feel of the different key pads. I liked the feeling of the impression the best. the keyboard is rubberized and raised. the widgets are customizable and the music player sounds great. As stated in other other posts, the unlock button is awkward. If you need to make calls in the car, this is a phone you NEED TO LOOK AT when you are typing or hitting numbers on the touch screen, so keep that in mind if you drive and dial a lot. all in all, this is a great phone, I am glad I purchased it.
