BlackBerry Curve 8900
Texting and GPS
So I am looking to replace my 8120 which has been pretty decent but has a few things I am not in love with. I want another Blackberry (Crackberry) and I want one with a full keyboard. I am tossing this one and the original Curve around and had two big questions.
With my Pearl I have occasional issues with text messages. I can send them and they go out just fine but then I go back into the texting app and they aren't showing up and the phone suddenly won't show me any coming in. When this happens the ONLY want to make it stop is to take the battery out and restart the phone. A friend has had a similar problem with his flip blackberry and I am wondering if this is a common problem with blackberries or if the 8900 is without this issue. I'd like to find some way to make it stop.
My second question concerns the GPS on the 8900. I recently had a chance to use a Garmin GPS device and fell in love with the driving directions. I was wondering how functional the GPS on the 8900 actually was. It works with the BB map app (which I love) but can I get driving directions from it and will it do the turn-by-turn like a dedicated GPS? I'd love to have a phone that can do that and this would be my big deal breaker for this phone. If it can do what I really want I will happily shell out the money but if it can't I will probably go with a Curve as they cost less and I will end up having to drop another hundred dollars on a GPS unit.
Any info from current users would be killer. Thanks in advance.
