?'s before i purchase

i will be upgrading my horrible Voyager to either the Alias 2 or Env3. i was hoping someone out there can answer some questions for me to decide which phone to go with. with the Alias 2...

1) can the backlight on the keypad be set for different times before it times out?

2) how easy is threaded texting on this phone? seem like i read a review saying it's not as easy as you think.

3) does the t9 save made up words? ex..i like to use '2mor' instead of spelling out tomorrow. once i type the short version, will the fone (t9) remember it?

4) does the front display show if u have a text, vm or missed call? i read something in the many reviews i read but can't find what i saw to refreshen my memory.

5) can i assign a different r...

here are answers according to numbers:
#1. yes, i think
#2 No, this phone has a terrible keyboard for typing.
#3No, i've tried
#4 I get those notifications for texts and multimedia messages, but I am not sure for the other things you've mentioned.
#5 yes and yes
#6 this lag time is true. Lets say you've just turned your phone on, and you get 7 more texts. it takes about a minute for each text because the up/down button flashes from "view now" to "view later". Also, when you text really fast, it doesn't keep up and decides to leave out the space button. it's really annoying.

All in alll, i do not think you should get this phone at all. I am currently trying to break this phone so i can get a new one. I've had this phone for a year an...
