VZW and GOOG announced a new partnership today with the first phones around the end of the year.

If VZW waits much longer for the S2, it may be too late. You figure with Google, there will be more support/apps/updates

The original Storm came out in late November '08. If they can turn out a 2nd Storm in under a year, they are doing pretty good. The original G1 is still out and it's a few months older I believe.

Updates: RIM has done 2 official and Google has done 2 official (Cupcake and donut)
Apps: RIM has a lot, Android has a lot, Apple has them all beat anyway by some ridiculous amount 😲

Google chose the route Microsoft did and is shopping an OS around to phone makers. You will see Android on a large number of phones soon just about everywhere just like with Windows Mobile. Apple and RIM manufacture their phones in house which limits this some.

Too late? Never. All blackberrys sell well, anything with Android will sell well too, Apple will s...

You mention the two OS improvements for the original Storm. The 1st one was a necessity due to the release of a device that resulted in major dis-satisfaction and astoundingly poor performance. The second, was a band-aide six months later, at a time when hybirds & betas were abounding with much improved execution over the "official release," .148

There is a slim to no chance of the 5.0 upgrade for the original Storm, prior to the release date for the Storm2. It would diminish luster for the new device and affect initial sales, were they to actually improve Storm1 (which they CAN do if they wanted to! It money, money, money 1st & foremost with RIM & Verizon, greed knows no boundaries!!!

Verizon has long been criticized for being taking too much time to approve OS releases. A lot of the people on crackberry were surprised how many good OS's didn't pass their testing 😳

grab .230!!! It's a solid OS!! If you wait for Verizon, you'll die first! 🤣

It's all about money and greed...you know it, I know it and yet I still have my hands out with the cash to get a S2 🤣

Will you be on line ahead of me camping out like an imbicile at 6:30 in the morning? My own hypocrisy is driving me out of my mind! I hate RIM, with Verizon on page of my S- list. And I vowed NOT to fall sucker for another RIM marketing scam. But, as a current Storm victim and blind to logic, I will once again be first at Verizon, awaiting another "Cure." Hey they couldn't do it the first time. Where is this sudden righteousness and decency coming from? Remember its still the "I don't give a heck about Verizon "Drip" (Storm1) owners RIM!!! This episode will be no different. The phone will be great, but my phone & only mine will lag, lock up like a crook in prison, never respond & crash, call after call!

Hey, when your phone becomes ...
