BlackBerry Storm 9530
Any Advice on what to say to VZW?
Loooong story short:
So I am on my 5th storm and it keeps freezing...AGAIN. Now its not even a battery or 2 pull a day, it freezes btw every application switch esp with the phone.
I called vzw and explained to them my frustrations and they FINALLY decided to at least give me an early upgrade at the ONE YEAR upgrade price which Im not happy with.
A friend of mine basically just got handed the Tour in store bc the people there just didnt even ask any questions bc they knew what was up.
My question is to everyone... should I wait until the storm 2 comes out (and i love the phone/screen and got used to the keyboard and everything) or just suck it up and get the Tour?
If there is anything I can say to the people in store to just...

i don't know what to tell you, I'm still on my original and i got it when it released.. first thing is what apps u running and how much memory do you have after a battery pull.. ur problem might not be the phone but the apps you are running. 2nd i work in a premium indirect store for verizon and if they gave your friend a tour they didn't do it for free... they did a whats called a multi-fru warranty which means they will send you a different phone (whether it be free or not is up to vzw) but it ups your contract length at least a year. as for waiting for the storm 2 it sounds great but i just had a heart to heart with the RIM rep here, and they if the phone is coming out in the next month would have a demo for us to try and he couldn't ev...

Before you give up on the Storm, try it with the upcoming 5.0 and interpret the impressions and feedback on the Storm 2. Those initial opinions will dictate how you proceed, unlike the orginal Storm. When that was released, owners became victims of a premature device loaded with problems and poor performance (.65). Won't happen this time around.......

If you haven't tried v.4.7.0.167,give it a try. It made an amazing difference with my Storm.

The only app I run is FB. I cant even run the new FB. I run FB v 1.3 bc 1.5 and higher completely messes up my phone (takes over messaging and phone).
Either way im just FRUSTRATED. I'll take another peak at what apps etc I have. I just remember that I even deleted the games and anything extra that I dont use.
I'll try and stop in the store when I have a moment to see if they can give me other options.

Delete Facebook and see if your problems continue. It looks like that app can cause problems everywhere and on several different versions like you found out.

Well after going into to VZW and talking to the guys....we found out that one of my family members on my plan has a 2 yr upgrade and I could always use that one.
So I think I am just going to patiently wait...and I mean patiently wait lol for either the storm 2 or maybe the palm pre 🙂
But in all honesty I am so ready to punt this phone across NYC lol

still on my 1st storm.. i gotta get it swapped up at a local store tho.. i might have gotten some water on it and caused the color to screw up.. burly noticeable.. but its annoying.. also its been restarting on me during calls.. might be from using "point"
