I just picked up the Storm 9530. I have 30 days to try it out. I was wondering what peoples thoughts were about keeping it, or would it be worth waiting for the 9550? Keeping in mind price and that I have not had any problems with the 5.0 OS. Thanks for input.

Well if price is an issue, stick with Storm 1, but if your a phone freak like the rest of us here, wait for the Storm 2. They are esentially the same phone. The Storm 2 will have a few upgrades, but Storm 1 should be able to run OS5.0 just like Storm 2 when it is realesed. I myself will be waiting for the new year to see what happens to LTE and the iphone. Although I'm not sure I can give up my BB now.

If WiFi is unimportant to you, then the $100 bucks in your pocket should motivate you to stay with the 9530. The upgrades will not be so significant once they are both running on the same platform. The "foot print" is essentially the same, as is the design.

When 9550 time ultimately comes, all those loyal to Storm 1 will jump ship anyway, just to experience the agony of the new arrival.... 😳

yeah i cant wait.. the cool thing for me is that i work for a premium agent that sells vzw so i get my hands on them before the public.. via training and what not.. so I'm hoping this will be a definite improvement cause the only thing that bothers me on the storm is the "clock or pain" i have tried to get those memory helpers and not much of a difference.. bare in mind i have 30mb starting out after a quickpull. 😢 any suggestions?

I also open with about 30 mbs. I have found some 3rd part apps which enable you to monitor activity and conserve some memory. There are proprietary programs that consume, and occupy large expanses of app memory. Facebook and Myspace are better suited for a desktop or lap top as they usually require interaction and typing. I've controlled Weatherbug by leaving it closed until use and rebooting right afterward because the app still runs in the background, consuming memory.

There are utility apps that are effective in slowing down memory leak. I'd like to share opinions on this. The Forum is limited and I don't want to "hog" a good back & forth.
