My first thoughts on the 9630

I got my Tour today and honestly, I miss the Storm. I miss the large screen and virtual keyboard. I have grown to appreciate the large screen. All day I found myself zooming in to read stuff.

As much as we bashed the Storm, I can really see myself going back. I'm going to give the Tour 2 weeks and see what happens.

You hit it in a nutshell! In comparison, the Tour is like viewing a postage stamp. That alone makes the Storm, with all it's glitches and frustrations, the one you should go back to.... 🙄

Your eyes? If I read too much stuff on the Storm, I go into a coma! The tour IS the Storm, with a band-aide over the screen!!! I'll bet people just love looking at the Tour keyboard, especially when their not using it and it occupies half the freaking phone!!! 😲

I got myself a Tour and Storm for my wife last week. I know what you mean. I've used both for about a week, and I already feel it. I've run into several issues with Storm, but Tour isn't issue free, either. I'm going to contemplate really hard whether to keep Tour, or exchange it with Storm and save $100. 🙄

Great to hear the constructive pros and cons of each 😁

I wish the Storm had as much application memory as the Tour, then the decision would be easy. Having 256 of app memory is nice. I usually hang around 110 or higher. I deleted a couple of the games and will be using crackmem or something to delete a few other options I don't need.

The video on Crackberry.com of Kevin using the new Storm looks cool. Biggest thing I noticed was--I COULD BE WRONG--the amount of application memory. More than 256!!!! SWEET

But looks like RIM is working on an app to allow the application to be stored on the SD rather than on the device itself.

Allowing apps to be stored on the SD card would go a long way towards making people happy 😁

yeah the funny thing is if that happened you really wouldn't need that much memory for these phones. after my fatal love dance with 5.0 software i had lost a bunch and I'm sitting around 30+mb and my phone hasn't run this nice since i bought it back in Nov. i figure that if you are above 22mb after reboot it should be good till that night if not the next day before having to reboot. so the moral of the story damn it RIM get this done so we don't have to reboot!! NO MORE REBOOT! NO MORE REBOOT! crap I'm wheezing now. 🤣
