BlackBerry Storm 9530
My 30 take on the Storm
At first, it was a bit difficult or maybe I was just lazy, to warm up to the Storm. I have had all the software versions(current is .85).
On New Years Eve, I was playing around with my cousins Pearl and Curve. I have had both and love both....especially the curve. Playing with the Curve brought back old feelings but at the end of the day, I was never so glad to get back to my Storm! Maybe I am getting old but using the querty on the Curve, I just couldn't see it that well in dim light. The Storm just glows in the dark. I found myself making more mistakes on the Curve then the Storm. In actual broad daylight, yes, the Curve wins. For...

Just some more fuel for thought. It is my beleif that if you continue to get swayed by other users opinions, you will most certainly always be switching phones. Howard Forums and Phonescoop are good for information but you have to take the reviews or feedback with a grain of salt. Can anyone name the last phone that came out that had great reviews? Every phone that I have ever seen released has alwayhs gotten plastered. Lets start with the v60, Moto 710 and 815, lets not forget one of the best selling phones ever....the razr. Oh yes, almost forgot, remember the 8100 hype? Those were the glory days of the forums! Many of us have wised up and moved onto other things th...

Reviews for any phone should be taken with a grain of salt. You go out and buy a phone that suits your needs and not a reviewers.
If I based my life on what a reviewer said about a car, a movie, or a book for instance, I wouldn't have to think for myself anymore 🤣
Lots of interest with this phone for sure. It's no failure at this point in terms of sales. The crackberry.com site swelled so much late last year that they were upgrading equipment to keep it running.
Between the Storm, the Bold and now the new Curve RIM is on a major roll and no one can dispute that
Now I'm excited for next month (February!!!) b/c I get to upgrade and the Storm will be my first BlackBerry. Like I said, I'm excited, but a little scared, as the world of BlackBerry is NEW to me, but I will make a judgement for myself and be sure to post a thread about it =)

Absolutely! I thought my Storm was a bit difficult to get used to for the first day, but after that day and after configuring the settings, it's worked out quite well for me. It's a great phone.
IT TAKES SOME TIME GETTING USED TO IT B/C OF THE TOUCH/CLICK, BUT ONCE THEY GOT THE HANG OF IT, THEY LOVED IT.
Hmmmmm ....... Im just excited that this will be my first BlackBerry and for once I will have a phone that works outside of the US. lol I know all about the expensive rates for texting and talking, but it's well worth it to stay in contact IF NEED BE. 🤤
However, the suretype keys are larger when you hold the phone vertically, which makes the keys bigger and easier to hit with your thumb, one handed. suretype, autocompletes your words, you just keep typing.
I get to upgrade Jan 30th, I was going to get a Samsung Saga, however after playing with the
qwerty and suretype keyboards on this phone.
with the latest firmware in the verizon store.
I am liking the Storm. I want to get one.
No wi-fi sucks, but who cares, since I can watch a nice MP4 video, in full widescreen, off my 8gb card, sweeet. I can even use this as an ipod. sweet again. STORM FTW !!!!
My Storm is doing well with .86. My browser is just sweet and I have tons of 3rd party apps on it. They work great. I feel like I am walking around with a mini laptop. Just watch folks, it will get even better then it is now. Patience.
