Hi,my daughter and I are looking to buy a storm (currently I have a pearl), I was reading the reviews, and someone said it doesnt have a lock for the touch screen so you may make call by mistake. Is this true? Also, my daughter is on the fence between the storm and the omnia, any more comments for either would great! thanks 😁

hey wss

the blackberry storm does have a lock button.. located on the top left corner of the phone.. im sure if you look for pictures of the phone, you can find one displaying the image.

i was stuck in the same situation your daughter is in, i had the voyager and i loved it! but i figured i should get a new phone with better browsing capabilities and had to choose between the storm or omnia. obviously i picked the storm, I found a new love 😁 although sometimes i get frustrated because its a bit slow (havent updated any software, still on .75) but everything else is AWESOME! honestly!

There are two programs that work in conjunction with locking features. One locks the display during a call, the other places the phone in lock mode as soon as the display dims. Both minimize inadvertent unwanted activity, work automatically, and can be turned off easily

From your computer, paste these addresses in an email and mail it to yourself. You may then easily download them from your Storm....

I'm pleased that my post was helpful to you. You will enjoy your Storm. I still use my Voyager as a backup and carry them both, side by side on my belt. For a quick texting exercise, that keyboard cannot be beat. A good reliable conventional phone and a great smart phone is an unbeatable combination.

You will find by comparison, the Storm to be a better phone than the Omnia (stability, display size, and overall "feel").

I've learned to appreciate a very significant aspect about this forum. For me, it's the Operators Manual that did not come with the phone.... 🤤
