BlackBerry Storm 9530

I have my blackberry set on custom vibrate 1 time at a medium length. When I recieve any kind of message no matter if its a sms, mms, pin, blackberry messenger, i get the vibrate but the sound does not come through. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks for your help.
