i'll tell you what i think....its still not a real touch screen phone....many people agree with this.....you have to physically click the screen.....kinda old school 🤣

and thats not even what the OP was talking about. i love my touch/click screen phone. its better then just a touch screen. it has both. i cant wait to update tomorrow, i havent been home to do so in 4 days.

Hawkeye, are you a Verizon Rep or Regional Sales Manager with RIM? I appreciate that you wish to keep things upbeat but I also feel you aren't realistic.
I got a Storm the first day they were out and kept it until Saturday. I upgraded to the Leaked software the day it came out.
While the Storm might be acceptable to a light user or some young person more interested in an iPhone type device for the kewl factor, it performs dismally for a business person wanting productivity from their mobile device. Even after the upgrade, the lags were still quite evident and the speed with which the touch screen responded was very inconsistent, resulting in numerous errors and requiring s alot of back tracking. There was all kinds of strange behavior...

first all some people like to remain up beat about a phone. we have enough of you bashers over playing things and make the phone look worse then it really is. ive had 0 problems with my phone so its obvious i would say the phone rocks.

WOW is correct. I got my phone today and did the OS update. I couldn't put it down. I didn't have the phone before, so I can't compare the differences in performance but WOW!!
I'm blown away by how clear the video playback is on it. I copied "we own the night" onto it and it was amazing. I downloaded Google Maps for it and the level of detail blew my socks off. I was seriously considering sending it back before I did the OS update, but now it looks like I'm going to keep the phone.

Stopppppppp with the iPhone killer talk. If you are gonna listen to music on your phone theres no comparison. The iPhone gives you the best phone with the best music player. Noone else can do that

Can't go too much into depth right now. I am on a cruise ship in Miami. My brother is here and has the storm. We just downloaded the update on his last night and so far it is so much better. The lag is a lot less noticeable and the phone is not crashing all the time.

Rumors are already flying that by next week there may be another update. Glad your brothers Storm is getting better.

i must be one of the few people that are still having issues with the storm. I download the new software upgrade and the phone is still really slow and it freezes all the time.

Pull the battery out, wait a minute and install it. This will reboot your Storm and many people have said this makes a difference after an install.

From what I hear, the new update is coming real soon. It only gets better! There are many who are second guessing their quick review and are eating crow right now. In summary, I think that there are people in this forum who will write anything negative about the Storm regardless of how good it gets.
A bit off topic to who reads this.
I have had both generations of Iphones( 3 times with the 3 G version) and I have the Storm. I am sure the Iphone is fantastic in other states outside of California. The 3G AT*T network is very small which limits that phone big time.
The Storm in my opinion is the better handset. It doesn't hurt that I live in California where Verizon is king. At the same time, my Wife travels everywhere in the US...

verizon network is hard to beat. i have friends on sprint and they complain a lot. i think there were a lot of quick reviews that were over done and were not fair. now the phone might not be for some or for the hard core business person. but you can say just that. a lot of people just like the trash it to trash it.
