The only true con I have is that the USB port changed from mini to micro, so all of my other Blackberry accessories were useless.

I have a Bold still in the box, waiting to be activated on a new at&t line, at this point, I don't see that happening.

Thank you RIM!!!!!

If you have the option of a Bold and choose the Storm you are obviously not buying it to be a productive BB. The Bold is so much better.

PlayboyPenguin:

Why are you even on this forum. Every post your on you have something either negative to contribute or your blasting the device. You must have an agenda b/c your still on blasting this device. It's fine to speak your peace but you did now move on and comment about the next phone.

I invested in smartphones before many w/ the Thera for Verizon in the past. I have used many of the devices on the market today and the Storm is a very good device. Maybe not for you but it might be better suited for someone else. I'm on my blackberry all the time just as I was w/ the blackberry 8830 and there isn't a real loss of productivity or efficiency and quite frankly I can do a lot more. At this point I am waiting for software so I can...

You can throw all the fanboy support you want behind this phone. I could care less. I think most people can easily see that people like yourself are in the vast minority supporting this phone. All it takes is a quick look at RIM's stock numbers from the release date of the Storm until the end of the month to see that. Then consider that Verizon has gone into damage control mode and will not ever release sales/return numbers to it's own stockholders yet.

Then if you want more evidence just take a look at all the negative reviews of the phone on all the cell phone sites. Heck, even with the do not even need a blackberry because I-do-not-have-a-real-job-fanboy support this phone can barely hold a 3 star rating while the Curve and Bold get 4....

Ratings going up? Where do you get that? They go up a little bit, then the moderator deletes all the posts from duplicate ISP's that have added screennames to try and pump up the ratings and they go right back down to a little over or under 3.0 again.

If you think all stocks have dropped like RIM's you have either the worst stock broker in the world or you have no idea of what you speak. RIM is really going to dive soon when the real sales/return numbers are released and predicted sales numbers of the Storm are cut in half.

You honestly believe that all the positive ratings on this site are from the same people? What other conspiracy theory's do you think we all need to know about?

Seriously PP...get some help.

Play....,

I'm a fanboy now. Are you an idiot. I bought the phone and I happen to like it just like everyone else who bought the phone and decided to keep it. If the comment about not having a real job was directed to me you got be to be kidding me. Your the one still on this site trashing the phone every post. You need to take you butt to work. Also, mostly everyones stock is down we are in a recession. Consumer spending is @ a low. Stop posting this garbage you have on this site and go comment on another phone. People have already heard your pointless banter. Your the one who needs a redesign I've only seen your post the past two weeks and you irritating enough to get others to join another forum. Go send your praises to the Bold or iPho...

I find it funny that every time someone tries to make a point they have to mention stock. Like really name one company that has not been affected by the inflation. People all of a sudden turn into these stock guru's but have nothing invested not even a dime.

The Bold is only a few days older than the Storm and it's been just as much as a headache as the Storm has or any other phone at its release.

The Bold had a lot of network connectivity issues.

I was out of my office all day today and no one ever knew it because of my Storm. Storm not productive my @ss.

The Bold we have has no connectivity issues. The issues that some have reported have been mostly with initial activation.

What makes it a better business phone is the fact that it does not have that crippling physical limitation on typing speeds. It will accept over lapping keystrokes and the Storm cannot. That leaves fast typists severely handicapped.

typing speeds may be slower without a physical keyboard but hardly "crippling". Those that put the time in with any device and get used to it will know this. I doubt it will be too long before either a 3rd party company or RIM gives you the option to disable "sure press" while typing on the keyboard

No, it is definitely crippling for fast typists. Even a moderate typist like myself is slowed on the device. Someone like my business partner, who has blazing thumbs of fire, does nothing but scream at it all day.

It is being widely panned for this very fact and most tech reviewers are asking RIM to please rethink the click screen.

BS...Most reviewers thought it was a novel approach to some touch screen shortcomings. Many people scream at new devices in the beginning.

Ever heard of Blackberry thumb?

That;s crap...most reviewers are clearly pointing out that they hate it. In fact phonearena used the word "despise" when describing it,. Phonedog hates it, CNET hates it, etc.

You need to read my posts. I have said plenty of positive about this phone, but so far the negative aspects of this phone outweighs the good. It IS a failure sales wise and it IS soon to be a thing of the past. RIM has already announced that they will be lowering initial sales forcasts dramatically which means this phone will be going bye-bye. Hopefully to be replaced by a true touch screen version.

then why are they always sold out and back ordered. that makes no sense. and if this were true it would be all over crackberry.com from reading on there everything blackberry is known there.

there is so many lies floating around about this phone its crazy. i know 2 people who are waiting to get theres. and if you take everyone who has one and im sure they know people who want them, thats a lot of people waiting to buy the phone.
...

Dec 4, 2008, 4:24 PM
they are sold out because they only delivered 20-25 units to most stores that should have received 200-300 units

they are backordered because of serious stability issues with the phones they have made so far

wake up...a sticker printing mistake did not cause the slow release.
