Storm, IPhone 3G or Omnia, that is the question.......

Ok People, I played with an IPhone 3G at the ATT store in New Brunswick, NJ for about an hour. I must say that I was VERY impressed. The internet browser is second to none! The call quality was crystal clear. I do understand that I was in the store and not out on the dock at the summer home in Pt. Pleasant. The camera doesn't have a flash, but that is minor. The touch screen is great.

The Storm was good, but not great. The browser is good, but not quite like IPhone. The video screen was awesome to say the least. It looks like HD on a phone. I didn't care for the push typing though. I like the touch of the IPhone.

I will test the Omnia, before making a final decision.

Right now, the IPhone is in the lead. I would hate to leave VZW ...

Out of the three, the iphone has the most intuitive operating system. No denying it's an outstanding phone. Anything Apple makes just works well. Best all around phone out there right now as far as I am concerned.

Apples agreement with AT&T is not a lifetime exclusive by the way from what I understand, it's between 2-5 years. You will see it elsewhere later, so if you leave VZW you may be able to come back if you like the phone that much.

The Omnia looks good on paper and wifi on VZW is a rarity. You will need to spend a lot of time with MinMo 6.1 to get used to it though, just like the Storm.

The Storm is new and not perfect yet by any means. I like it but it's not for everyone

First off, I will assume you mean Pt. Pleasant, NJ and not Pt. Pleasant, WV (home of the famous Mothman).

Second, I would need to kno what you plan on using the phone for before suggesting which is best for you.

Ae you going to be reviewing and altering word documents? Is it going to be a business phone? The iPhone does not alter documents.

Between the Omnia and the Storm I might go for the Omnia since they have had awhile to work the bugs out of WM 6.1 but the Storm is having software issues right now. I would have to get some hands on with it first. if Blackberry works out the software kinks I would take the Storm because I prefer the RIM system over WM and it has a larger screen.

If you are going to use this as a play phone t...

Playboy, you are correct, I did nean Pt. Pleasant, NJ. I went to college in Wva and don't plan on going back anytime soon. LOL

I will be using the phone for web browsing and videos while riding on the train or killing time. I will not use it for business at all. The RIMM Storm screen was best between the two. It is like HD on a phone. That said, the IPhone 3G has a nice video screen as well. A canera flash would have been nice, but not a deal breaker.

The iPhone would be the best choice for you. The Storm has a slightly higher resolution, but it is not really noticeable to the naked eye. The higher resolution of the Storm does you little good anyway since it does a horrible job playing internet based video. the videos look blurry, pixelated, and choppy. Also, the iPhone has the largest screen of the three. That extra 1/4 length makes a big difference when reading web pages.

I thought that the Storm had a slightly bigger screen. The more that I think about it, the more I am thinking IPhone.

Storm has a 3.2" vertical measurement and the iPhone is 3.5" for a difference of .3" diagonally. That adds up to about .24" horizontally.

The storm has a slightly higher resolution screen but it is smaller and supports less colors than the screen on the iPhone.

The Omnia has the lowest resolution and smallest size of the three. The Omnia screen looks a little under done to me.

Get the iPhone and do not look back. Be warned though. If you are like me and like to get a new phone every two months to keep up with the trends the iPhone will spoil that for you since even the newest phones cannot equal it.

I would recommend the storm it is a great multi media powerhouse, I just did the update for the storm and it cleared up 50% of the issues it had. You should try one out at a store before you buy one I think you will love it!

I did try the Storm on two different occasions. I didn't like the push button keypad. I prefer the touch. The browser on the Storm was excellent, but the IPhone browser is tops by far. I don't own an IPod, so by getting the IPhone, that will take care of that. The Storm is a nice phone on the best network, but the IPhone is in a class by itself.

Playboy, I don't have to have the newest gadget. With VZW, I replaced my phone every 2 years.
