Software downgrade and upcoming update...False rumor?
This is a quote from the phonearena website. Anyone else have any info?
Author's note: There were rumors of a last minute software downgrade with an impending update coming, which is why we held off on publishing our review for a few days, but RIM has addressed the issue and this has turned out to be false. Still, we think they have to be working on something given how bad the menu runs. We are rating the device in its current state, but if there are any major upgrades that change the user experience we will update our review accordingly.

Just got mine today and the BB Desktop manager downloaded a patch or update of some kind into my BB.

Yuppers, the whole rumor about upcoming new software is a lie, based on a rumor, based on a misconception. There is no higher software that is soon to be fixed and released. RIM never told that guy there was a new software coming. Get used to how they are running now because they may be that way for awhile.

My inside sources say otherwise...that there is going to be a software update in the near future. I guess we'll just wait and see.

What sources? All the insiders that said it was coming have now back tracked and RIM themselves has said the updates software has never existed.

Yes we shall, and I hope we see very soon...or I might end up with one of them sweet looking Samsung touch phones. I have decided to hold of on the Bold and hope the Storm becomes an acceptable phone soon, but if it doesn't I will not be able to wait forever and have to switch to a WM phone.

Hey PP...just a quick FYI...I logged on to check for updates for the phone, and it did do some kind of update...well now the lag seems to be less than before. Maybe it's just a fluke, but I'll take it!

BTW, my Storm has few issues. It so far has been a very usable phone out of the box.
A wacky accelerometer is the most annoying one. Lag can be drastically reduced by tweeking settings

Am I the only one to noticed that the issues mentioned that will be addressed by the update are none of the true issues this phone is having? It just talks about some volume issues, and othertrivial bugs. It does not address the freezing up, the serious lags, the faulty keyboard registerings, the poor internet video quality, the faulty accelerometer, etc.

Because you claim you got 3 "defective "phones doesn't mean mine is defective. If I got 3 defective Storms, I would be looking elsewhere...sheesh there must be something you like about this phone if you tried to get 3 of them 🤣
