Not a fan . . .

I want to make sure I didn't just have a bad experience. I just got back from the Verizon store where I went to play with the BB Storm. It was light and had a nice screen.

However, IT TAKES EVERYTHING SO LONG TO LOAD. It also froze alot. I don't see how you can stand to have a phone that takes so long to just open a program. In addition, the typing is hard to register in the corners where the screen meets the edges.

I just don't understand it. I would go as far to say that the release of this phone is criminal. Did I just play with a bad one? I mean, I tried both demo units.

I mean, if it worked fast I would love it. The click screen is very intuitive. However, it just took too long to do everything. The lag is terribl...

You played with a phone with an older software version than was supposed to be released. They found a serious flaw in the newer software version and at the 11th hour reverted back to one that was not so ready just to get the phone out on launch day.

So, that being said, major updates are on the way VERY soon. Big screw up by either VZW or RIM depending on who you talk to.

It seems the more complex a phone..er...computer...uh phone gets, the more issues that have to be dealt with...The iphone had PLENTY of them

Thanks very much for the reply. I thought something had to be wrong. That phone was terrible. I will give it a try again with the new software. I didn't see how anyone had time to wait on that phone to load everything.

Crackberry.com and Boy Genius are good sources for the Storms launch day "fiasco"

Also, there are settings that people have found within the phone to speed things up and cut the "lag" (increasing touch sensitivity, etc.)

when customers use the demo units they tend not to shut the applications down after using them, if they tried the VZ Nav, visual voicemail, and tried to play brickbreaker with out shutting them down it will slow down the performance... or it could have been a bad phone
...
