I happen to agree with you, I won't be getting the Storm, but it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it, just not a VZW customer nor do I wish to be.
The Storm seems to be a fantastic phone. At present I use the Bold which I am very happy with it. I think the choice between the two is a matter if one wishes touch screen or real kb. No right, no wrong. As well as which carrier you're on.

Well, I am all for it as long as we can actually discuss negatives, if any, about the Storm as well as the positives. I'm hoping that their aren't, but I think that no device is perfect and we should be able to post problems with hopes of solutions without getting skewered as a hater.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sick of the hate posts and think we should ignore crap like, "the Storm sucks" and "iPhone for the win". Those are not really productive.
It would be a blessing if we could discuss only the device in which the section of the forum is dedicated to. I know that I'm talking in my hat here but I can dream. I like my iPhone and I believe I'll like my Storm as well. Let's not expect that you have to hate one to love the other...

16 bit screen? Why? Why is RIM holding off on this? With a phone this cool...I thought for sure they'd up it to an 18 bit!

I was really looking forward to upgrading to this phone. But after watching the reviews and reading new information I am sorely disappointed. Verizon first lost the Iphone because of their greed and now their greed is costing them from giving their customers an Iphone killer. They told Rim they didn't want Wifi (probably for some reason that could have given customers something for free), they did not include the youtube app that the Vodaphone customers received, probably to push customers away from streaming. Now, on the iphone, if there is a youtube video on a webpage it will show up and you can click it and it opens in the media player, with the storm from what I saw, the video doesn't show up, something you take for granted if you ha...

THe idea that VZW didn't want the WiFi is crazy< they already offer seceral devices that have WiFi, Samsung PDA's all have it, and so do the XV6800 hundred, I even think the new Treo800W will have it as well. now the you tube thing comes down to whether you are getting the device for media or business? The Iphone is not a business tool the Storm is. The Iphone is a cool device, but doesn't even work as a business tool as good as the old treo 650.

You tube is not needed for a business phone. Blackberries are business phones. I do not even care about mp3 players or any other type of video.
What I want is a fast and reliable software and a fast accurate means of entering text. The Storm gives you neither of these things.

Ordered on the phone the first day. The lag can be addressed by changing some settings.

Changing those setting does nothing to stop the lag. The lag is a software engrained issue and increasing screen sensitivity and other stop gap methods do not change that.

As I have said, I am not experiencing much lag at all. I am still puzzled why you are in a Storm forum when this phone obviously isn't for you.
Get a Bold, get an iphone. Get something you think works for you, but stop bashing others that have Storms and actually need a meaningfull please to address issues and get them answered.

Every single review of this phone has harped on the lag. I have three of these phones and they all lag badly.
It is odd that a couple people on here claim that they have very little lag. I am starting to think some people have an invested interest in trying to prevent this phone from failing so badly (which it is by the way..there was just a podcast last night on one of the tech sites regarding the massive amounts of returns Verizon is getting on this phone). I am also starting to think some of te big supporters on here (there are only a very verbal few) do not really own one since everything they say is either just a repeat of stuff on other sites or completely outside of the n...

No vested interest in lousy phones. Getting 3 of these phones would be difficult to accomplish since they are in high demand and short supply.
Not a sales guy in any field, too much stress and I have no stomach for that 🤣 just can't stand people bashing a good phone every chance they get for kicks.
You have done little to help anyone that has the phone, not everyone should get this phone it is complex.

Getting three was no problem what-so-ever. We have 26 lines (at last count) through Verizon and pay them over $2500.00 a month in service fees. We have no problems getting what we want.
This phone is a failure as it stands. Only you and one or two other people are trying to skew that fact.
