Service agreement for e-mail?

Can someone explain to me the data plans from Verizon? I asked the Verizon folks, but they didn't seem to understand them either. I see people are using the phone for e-mail, so I assume some of you have it figured out.

I'd like to be able to send and receive corporate e-mail. It looks like there is an option for remote connection to an on-line computer or a data plan where the phone actually logs on to the mail server. If I'm looking at it, though, it looks like a hefty monthly charge. Help, I don't understand it.

There is another add-on premium service whereby your Outlook on your desktop will synchronize with your phone wirelessly -- perhaps that's where you're getting confused.
