i have not used the eternity yet but as far as i know the phone are pretty much identical. at&t has live tv but a 3 meg camera and the behold has a 5 meg camera, both are slow.i have the behold and i like it alot, touch screen is very responsive even though i have big hands and the phone is very easy to use and fast 3g service.other than people who do not research thier phones before they buy them most reviews have been positive for the behold and im sure the same for the eternity.

With all due respect, they are not the exact same thing. Read my review for further details.

I looked at the Behold in the store and found a lot of the issues that people are reporting back in the reviews almost instantaneously. Since T-Mobile really had nothing better to offer (No, the G1 is not better, it's more parallel or at worse case, a few steps back of a phone that meets standards) and since my contract is up on 11/28 (Black Friday), I'll be porting. I am currently trying the Eternity right and find it to be far superior in nature to the Behold. The Behold may have a higher MP Camera but just about everyone and their momma has said the pictures suck and...

my brother has at&t as well as my fiance, the iphone 3g(at least thats what they claim) and the NEW eternity!!! now that i have seen the eternity, the 3g is NOT...i repeat...NOT faster than tmobile, given there are more areas for at&t 3g in the usa but i have 3g in my area and its blazing fast, side by side comparison will prove that.i personally do not watch tv on my phone though, i just download movies to the card as do most other people with the capabilities. other than that, the normal everyday features and functionality of the two phones are very similar.

While you claim the 3G may not be faster, I'll tell you from having tested the G1 from T-Mobile for the 14 day Trial Buyer's Remorse that...

I have the Behold and I like it EXCEPT for the browser, which totally sucks! I played with the Eternity today and it definately has a better browser. Also, the Eternity can multitask and the Behold cannot. However, the camera on the Behold is better and has a flash.

A couple more things. The Eternity has a 3.2 inch screen and the Behold is 3.1 inches. Surprisingly, that 1/10 of an inch is noticable. However, they both have the same number of pixels and the Behold actually looks crisper.

A definately advantage of the Eternity is the standard 3.5" headphone jack, which the Behold lacks.

Behold is a 3.o" screen according to every website I have looked on. That's 0.2" difference and that is a huge one in the cell phone display world.

I agree the 3.5mm headphone jack is a big selling point, that and the fact that it is on a larger 3G network.

I could care less about camera cell phone quality, so the 5MP shooter on the Behold doesn't really carry any weight for me.

also the actual looks of the eternity are more of a high tech gadget, while the looks of the behold are more gimmicky and cheap. horrible hard button cluster, square ear pice, and the chrome trip overlapping the fascia. meh.. if i was a tmobile customer, i wouldn't get the behold based on looks.

uh actually the data plan on att is 10 more expensive

att: $30 for unlimited internet

tmobile: $35 for unlimited internet and unlimited text
or $25 for unlimited internet and 400 text
or $20 for unlimited internet

hope this clears it up! 😁

Actually, THIS site specifies that the Behold is 3.1.

And other sites do as well. I once had the exact millimeters of the screen and it comes out to 3.1.

The problem with the Behold is that the auto focus lacks a LOT. The only way you can take a quality pic, is to go in and set the camera manually. Really annoying. The headphone jack would've been huge also. BUT, hopefully they do better next time. 😡
