Are you using Task Manager regularly? Whenever I hear complaints of things freezing or being slow in WinMo, I suspect that too many apps are open.
Just in case you aren't aware, it's a quick swipe from the bottom of the screen toward the middle. Then tap the "End all tasks" button on the screen. Should speed-up noticeably at that point.
A few small apps running won't bother it much, but if you just used PowerPoint, or some other large apps, it's very noticeable. Regular clearing of Task Manager will also improve battery life.
Someone was complaining about not being able to set custom ring tones, and having them stay. The most common reason for this is that you have to click "ok" in the top right corner of the window. Many times, people will click "Close" on the bottom left corner of the screen. If you hit "Close" you won't save your changes.
