Omnia Review after long ownership - The jury is still out

by luigi524td    May 2, 2009, 9:09 AM

I'm on my 3rd Omnia after less than 3 months.

First had a firmware problem ... second was fried by a defective original home charger; This one seems better but still has IMHO very poor battery life ... even with BT & WiFi turned off and limited use of data services and about 60-90 minutes of talk time.

Yes, it is a slick WinMob device with gadgets galore and apps that make it almost an iPhone.

BUT .. I'd like not to have to be tethered to or look for a charger / power source after a "mere" 4 hours.

Clearly form has outpaced function on this particular device. Perhaps battery technology will catch up in a few years. Rolling Eyes

I'll run with this one for a bit longer but may have to look for a more serviceable device very soon. I'm working on the 3 strikes and your out [next phone is my choice since Verizon had enough opportunities to get it right] with Verizon and this particular phone.
