thx for ur help. unfortuantely, it's not accessing the hotmail that's the problem, it's the having it push the alert to my phone, amazingly, it's not doing this. initially when using the phone's email set up, instead of doing an automatic set up, it directs me to a link http://windowsmobile.com/emailsetup/live, which then opens up the phone's opera browser and directs me to a hotmail log in. i got access but couldn't figure out how to get alerts. I then contacted a tech who explained that microsoft windowslive has had issues in the past with blackberry and access because of it being a free email etc etc.. whatever the case, blackberry has it now, with full html access, and at the very least my old voyager whcih is not a smartphone, was able to have the mobile email app which did indeed alert me immediately when getting new hotmail emails. It gets better, he told me that mobile email is available for smartphones now, so here i go download it, beautiful, all my inbox, all attachments open, however, NO INCOMING EMAIL ALERTS. I have to refresh 'manually' everytime i want to see if something new came in. You have got to be kidding me, after going back to the store whose techs pretty much had no clue, customer support told me this is most likely because my hotmail is a free account, but if i upgraded it to a package of some sort, then i would get the alerts. Is this crazy or what? anyway i tried gmail and aol, those push forward although instantaneous, within 5-10 minutes. I tried yahoo and got the same crap , need to refresh for new emails. is this retarded or what?
