Text Message Alert Issue

Zoltar

I cannot get my Omnia screen to light up when I get a text or picture message. I have checked the settings and they are set to "flash light for 5 minutes" however the screen stays dark. The vibrate and audio alerts work, however the screen does not light up. Is anyone else having this issue, and were you able to resolve it?

maybe your backlight is turned off...if thats not the problem then go to one of those tech guys up at a VZW store...to check it out...

Same thing here. Must be the way it works (doesn't work) even though an option is provided to "Flash Light". Maybe it will be fixed in an update. The feature would be nice to have.
This Omnia has so many features and capabilities that I find it hard to put the phone down. Like a real good book!

the "Flash Light" option is for the same light that turns on when you're charging your phone (the little red light on the power button). When u enable the "flash light" option, that little red light will flash whenever you receive a message.

Oh! You're correct! I cannot see the power button light because my Silicon Case covers the light.
Thanks for that information.

I am still confused. So does this mean there is no way to get the screen to light up when receiving a text message!?!?

Um...I don't know exactly how to work my Omnia yet...but....my advice is to play with your phone and mess with a few settings...BUT dont mess with anything that you DEFINETLY dont know about...D:

I'm slowly getting the hang of my omnia...just still kind of hard to keep all that information lodged in my head D:

Go to this site and install this cab to your phone. It will install on your device not my storage or storage card. You can find the shortcut in the folder "programs". This will wake/light up your screen when you have a missed or new text message and missed call. Program works great and its free 😁
