I have not yet bought either but have played with the Dare considerably. I have found that the Dare seems to be good especially for the camera. Versa is 2.0 MP Dare is 3.2. Both seem to take good pictures, but the Dare seems to edge out in this category. I can go on, but I am sure many others will. I found good faith in all of you guys before, and am asking it again. So what do you think....Dare or Versa? thanks ;)

I went out and got the Dare when it came out last summer and it's the first LG I have owned and love it! The Versa has a lot of new features it's just what you need is the question. I may pick up the Versa and throw the Dare on Ebay. Have to try the Versa and see.

What are you doing to break the charging port? Resting the phone on the charging plug? Had mine since July and no breakage whatsoever.

Our main "issue" phones are Motorola's and the cheaper samsung phones.

LG's we don't have issues with besides for people breaking them by pressing too hard on touch screens or spilling beer on them and complaining that they stopped working.

Motos and Samsungs aren't that bad, compared to the PCD phones. The reliability rating on these phones reads: *expletive*

what? i've never seen a dare come back for charging port stuff. only time i've seen them is when people bring them in with a cracked display. maybe your selling them the wrong chargers? i personally dont like the dare, but that's mostly because of the touch screen. it's just not consistant enough. i like tangable buttons that i can feel.

I say no. I work at a Verizon Indirect and the phones that i see coming back most often are anything motorola. Jeez just typing the name makes me shudder! i try my hardest NOT to sell a MOTO to anyone. i've seen nothing but problems with them. there, i've corrected that. now about the choice of a dare or versa....depends on what you like. if you like an actual keyboard AND a touchscreen, Versa. if you'd rather chicken peck on JUST a touch screen, Dare.

I recommend the Versa. I spent a lot of time playing with the Dare in the store and quickly fell in love with the Versa they second I got my hands on one. I have had it for a couple days now and love it.

The only selling point I see at this time for the Dare is the 3.2mp camera, but for most the 2.0mp of the Versa is plenty.

Even without the QWERTY Module attached, the phone is excellent. Too many people seem to think this phone is meant to be permanently attached to the module, heck no!

Also to those talking about charging ports... I had problems with my port on my old LG VX9400, sometimes plugging the phone in would shut it off and the plug was real loose and basically a pain. This charging port seems like a much better fit, nice ...

The attachable keypad is thin and fragile looking and that brown pretend leather look just awful...

Maybe you should try one? The keyboard is excellent, very firm and sturdy. Typing on it is not a problem in any way, shape, or form.

I have been using this phone for the past several days without the keyboard however... so for those considering between this and the Dare, I just want to say in my experience, even if the keyboard wasn't an OPTION I would have gone with this phone.

It operates so smoothly with no hiccups or lag whatsoever.

Didn't mean to offend -- I just played with one in the store and the keypad seemed very light and fragile. But LGs are typically good phones. I have the Dare and no problems, so I'm sure it will be OK, but his question was Dare or Versa, I was just adding my humble opinion...it really depends on what he wants to do with the phone.

i read your review, and got stuck up on the clock thing. i havent had any hands on time with this phone, but owned the dare. with the dare, you can go to clock format, and it will give you options. if you click the text of that option, it picks that option. BUT if you click the image of the clock for the option, it brings a new screen and you can place the clock anywhere you want on the screen. im gonna get hands on then ill try to figure it out, and let ya know.

hope this info helps

From what I can find there is no clock options anywhere. Not to set the time, not to set the size, not to set anything.

The only thing I can find connected to the clock is for the charging screen.

Thanks though!

yeah i finally got a lil hands on time, and no clock settings.... thats just plain weird. might have something to do with there being 30 different screens lol.

(30 screens was an exaggeration)

Personally, I've had no problems with the keyboard at all.

I also somewhat like the semi-steampunk look of the pleather... but that part is rather subjective.

If you're talking to the English major, try again. The sentence was "the brown leather look just awful..." as in the brown leather look is just awful (look being a noun in this sentence, not a verb...). I suppose it did sound awkward, but it certainly wasn't incorrect.

If you are going to get technical like that, at the very least you needed a comma ("the brown leather look, just awful").

...Except that I'm on a cell phone forum, not writing a thesis. The only purpose of the previous post was for someone to be an ass, not to add anything of value to the "conversation." Apparently no one on here can have an opinion or a viewpoint anymore, and certainly in the Versa form one should not comment on the Versa's visual appeal. I am so very sorry. Some people really need to get a life.

Forum, not form. Geez, spellecheck didn't catch that because form, of course, is a word. Guess I need braincheck.
