Feeling bad for Samy?

Anyone feeling bad for Samsung on this phone? I went to take a look at it at our local store and they didn't have any advertisements, posters, signs up promoting the phone etc. In fact, the employees told me the store had only gotten 5 in each color and I was only the second person that day to even ask about the phone. Obviously, T-Mo's not wanting it to steal any of G1's thunder, and maybe they'll make a bigger deal about it later, but it just seems like Samsung and the Behold got the raw end of the deal with the timing etc. The Behold isn't even a smart phone, so it wouldn't be in direct competition with the G1, although it could sway some buyers who don't need all the features of the G1 but want a touch screen. What do you think?

I agree with you. Same experience for me. This morning I went to a t mobile store to check this bad boy out. No in-store postings or demos. We had to ask to see a display model. I wanted to check out the screen and some of the features that the behold has over the g1. Stereo bluetooth and video recording was not enough to make me switch. The browser, integrated email and screen resolution was a deal breaker for me. I personally don't like the pressure touch screens that much at all. My cousin took his g1 back to try the Behold. By the time we made it home( a ten minute drive) he wanted to go back to the store and beg for his G1 back. Glad to see more choices coming to t mobile, but the Behold is a step down from the G1 for me.

Well the same thing also happened to the blackberry flip. Its a great phone but the G1 is taking all the attention. The Behold is a nice phone and I've been offering it as an alternative to the G1. For those people who don't need all the extras. As for the amount of phones thats not out of the ordinary for a phone. Depends on the volume that the store does. So a higher volume store would get more in. They should receive a lot more in the next week or so.
