Hero is sweet, was going to wait for the NAM version but bought a Rogers Magic( basically a mytouch with more memory) which works fine on AT&T's 3g network. And in Oct. since the Rogers version of this phone is not a google phone, they will be offering the SenseUI interface. Outside of the camera, they are basically spec'd out the same.

Not really, its an Android OS phone, but not a Google phone, main difference is some vendors added stuff not approved by Google. The Hero is not sanctioned by Google.

if u look into the hero os u will on the about page u will see that is it still powered by google's android os. android is on the hero as well with added features, google own the trademark to the android os. google doesnt screen their apps as apple. the android is a linux based device and all devices built after the or from android os is still from google.

HTC RIM GOOGLE and a few other dev, developed this os. under google's company. it is by google for the venders

Yes, but those who Google brand the phone, loose Exchange and Sense Ui interface, sure its easy enough to add. Same goes for the HTC Magic, some like the MyTouch for TMO are Google branded, Roger's Magic isn't.

Only problem is with phones like the Hero and some Magic's are no OTA updates. It has nothing to do wither it has Android OS or not.

true. and it goes hand in hand with linux. free to mod and google is not supporting that ui cause they didnt build it... but i am sure eventually. and same for the carrier, since these ota are huge lol. ota will be on wifi lol. it is still better than the iphone where u need itunes to update lol... exchange not a big issue... i havent hear too many business using it as a work tool yet...

True, and I guess if one runs there own exchange server it would make sense. But to be honest, for my needs, regular pop's is fine, if it came down to needing more, I'd get a Blackberry. Besides, gmail is pushed.

The Sense UI is sweet, I think I might toss it on my Magic tommorow.
