being an iphone 3G user i can admit im kind of spoiled when it comes to phones. when the G1 was first advertised, i thought street view was the coolest thing id ever seen, but with the recent iphone update bringing street view to the ever growing iphone repetoir, the G1 has nothing more to offer thats new. the phone also lacks the "sleekness" that we all expect from the new big thing. yeah, its a great phone, and all the iphone haters now have a comperable alternative, but its no better than apples home run.

p.s. the keybored kind of sucks, but is still there, so i cant complain

The G1 brings to the plate a brand new operating system. More choices are always a good thing for consumers.

For some getting the iphone is not an issue of love or hate for the phone itself. It can be just as much about the network it's on. I won't bash AT&T but there are those out there that hate it for one reason or another.

Touch Pro rains supreme over both devices. Yes I went there. 🤤 Out does them both in to many areas to list!

I had att post merger with cingular and when they combined my signal and call quality went down. att is being sued for false 3g speed claims and I can see why. And the dropped calls on the iphone are ridiculous. Honestly the iphone and g1 are good phones they just cant touch my Pro. 😎

you know what is funny on one is talking about phone any more in here. look at all the major carrier all has merged with another company except tmobile. Key word major... in terms of phones. even one chooses a device that best suites them. in term of which is better well look in your pocket tell me how much money u have it will be the best phone u have. but over all... all this crap talk about which is better look outside the usa. Germany or Europe for that matter u will see that tmobile rules over there and they already have 4g since 2005. the usa. so if u want a new generation phone buy international device (touch pro os can go on any windows mobile device and it has the same technology as the tmobile wing and the att tilt with a few desig...

technology in the usa is being big time. there are phone in the world that can do ten times more than what the phone in the usa can do. FCC is controlling that. Which ever carrier bids the highest get that model phone exclusived on their network. look it up your self it is not hidden information.

Tmobile is the only international company in the usa. Tmobile is acuatally bigger than all US carriers. and they do have more advance phones on the market just not sold in the usa but if you go online and buy them your self you can use them on tmobile network or cingular/AT&T as well (same network type)

Vodafone/Verizon seems to be larger according to wikipedia although with mergers and such that seems to change almost daily 🤣

VERIZON HAS NOT MERGED WITH VODAPHONE THEY HAVE A CONTRACT DEAL USA BASED COMPANIES CANT MERGE WITH INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES THEY CAN HAVE CONTRACT DEALS. VODAPHONE IS MOSTLY GSM NETWORK. THAT IS WHY WHEN U TRAVEL IN COUNTRIES WHEN U HAVE VERIZON U NEED A VODAPHONE GSM SIM CARD.

Vodafone has a 45% stake in Verizon which makes it far more than a contract deal.
yes, their network technologies are different, but it doesn't change this.
