I went to best buy today and was looking for a 8gb micro sd and all they had was the 8gb microSDHC card. He said it will work with my g1. Is he right or do i need to return this and get a micro sd.
Can someone let me know

That would have been my 1st reponse. 🙂 but yeah, it should work. Its a mircoSD non the less. The g1 holds up to 16GB. That one you bought should be ok. But as stated above....

i know thats what ive heard it take up to 16g but it will only recognize 8g.. like if you put 16g it'll say only 8g... i dont see why it would though.

i mean 8g is already huge-mun-gus 😁 😲 lol

I cant agree or disagree. I will look into that. I have a 8GB and as you said, it mentions that. Also as you said, my 8GB is far more then enough at this point. The 16GB costs $100. Do you need $100 of memory? lol.

I have a 16GB here in the store, if time permits, I will pop it in and see what happens. My T-Mobiel reps (as well as the training call for the G1) said it DID support 16GB with a downloadable coming soon to support 32GB. I will confrim all this tommorow.

It showed up just fine this morning. Says 16GB. Not sure where you heard or saw what you said, but, I dont see any problem on this end.

Just incase, I tried 2 different cards and they both worked (meaning I could put files on them, take them off and my phone said 16GB).

Confirmed the 32GB Update. Its very hush hush though. It didnt seem like they wanted to prodcast that yet. He kinda stalled for a bit before answering. In the end though, he said yes. The G1 will support the 32GB MicroSD in a future update.

A microSDHC is just a microdSD card with high capacity (HC). I think anything over 4gb is considered HC. Any phone with HC compatibility can also use any microSD card 4gb and under.
