2 problems c550 GPS incompatibility, battery charge life

by jerrydoc    Dec 9, 2008, 9:08 PM

I have two problems with my Hue. I like it for the large buttons and large display. However, I have to charge it almost every day even though I may only talk a few minutes a week on it. I have the backlight set to 30 seconds. The bigger problem is I bought it for the Bluetooth function as I have a Garmin c550 GPS that is Bluetooth also. The first day I used it in tandem, everything worked fine. The next day, and ever since, when the two are in range, the phone shuts off every 30 second, almost like a software re-boot and the connection is broken. If I am trying to access something on the phone, it will still shutoff without warning. This even happens when I am dialing using the hands-free function of the GPS. The only time it does not shut off after 30 seconds is when I make a successful connection calling someone. Then it will work until I hang up and the cycle begins again. Just in the last week, the GPS has been prompting me with the passcode to pair the unit each time the phone comes back on. The constant warning screens on the GPS from these malfunctions makes it rather usueless to use also. I have updated all of the software on the Garmin. So I am puzzled. The Samsung is not on the list of compatible phones from Garmin, however it was working fine for the first day of operation. The c550 is recognized by the phone. Any help would be appreciated.
