Samsung Hue II R600

I have two problems with my Hue. I like it for the large buttons and large display. However, I have to charge it almost every day even though I may only talk a few minutes a week on it. I have the backlight set to 30 seconds. The bigger problem is I bought it for the Bluetooth function as I have a Garmin c550 GPS that is Bluetooth also. The first day I used it in tandem, everything worked fine. The next day, and ever since, when the two are in range, the phone shuts off every 30 second, almost like a software re-boot and the connection is broken.
